Food, Wine, Rock & Roll

Part food blog, part jam session

Like most of you, I lead a very busy life.  I spent five years of my life as a high school Theatre teacher, which meant that during the school year I had very little time for outside projects like hobbies or spending time with my family.  Now I am a PhD student in Theatre History who also teaches theatre classes at my university.  I just thought I didn’t have any time for outside projects when I was a full-time teacher.

However, one of my favorite stress-relievers is cooking.  For me, there is nothing better than coming home and cooking dinner, even if it is a quick, simple meal.  I would rather have friends over and cook with them than go out to a restaurant.

A few years ago, my husband, a freelance web designer, suggested that I start a website so I could share my recipes with others on a wider scale.  I LOVED the idea and we immediately started collaborating on this site.

I know there are millions of people like me in this world; people who love to cook or want to serve healthy, home-cooked meals with their families but, too often, don’t seem to have as much time as they would like.  Not all of my recipes are simple and fast but they are all delicious and (relatively) healthy.

Most of the time when I’m cooking, I find it impossible to not bring two of my other loves into the mix: wine and music.  There is nothing better in the world than turning on good music, pouring a nice glass of wine (or any other varied adult beverages), and dancing in the kitchen while cooking, hence the name of this site.  I hope to also include information about wine (or other varied adult beverages), as well as some other possible music/food related projects, on this site.

So, without further ado, I bring you “Food, Wine, & Rock & Roll!”  I truly hope you enjoy it!
